The relationships of editorial board of the scientific journal "Society and power" and the author are based on publishing ethics, which includes the obligatory components:

  • The ethics of author
  • The ethics of editorial board
  • The ethics of reviewer

 

The ethics of author

 

The author must provide reliable research results. Deliberately mistaken or falsified statements are unacceptable.

The author shall guarantee that results of the study, which stated in the given manuscript, are completely original. Borrowed fragments or statements must be arranged with the obligatory indication of the author and the primary source. Excessive borrowings and plagiarism in any form, including unexecuted quotes, paraphrasing or assumption of rights to the results of other people's research are considered to be unethical and unacceptable.

It is necessary to recognize the contribution of all persons, one way or another influenced the course of the study, particularly, the references in the article should be submitted to works that had value in the study.

The author does not have to submit the manuscript to the journal that has been sent to another journal and it is under consideration, as well as the article, which was already published in another journal.

Co-authors of the article should include all persons who have made significant contributions to the study. It is unacceptable to indicate persons among the co-authors who have not participated in the study.

If the author finds out considerable errors or inaccuracies in the article on the stage of the review or after its publication, he must as soon as possible inform the Editorial Board.

The author must provide accurate information about his place of employment, position, academic degree, academic rank, as well as to point the contact information correctly.

The author must provide only original works. It is necessary to have references to relevant publications in the time of using text or graphic information derived from the works of other people.

The author has no right to withdraw the article after work on text editing.

The author must not attempt make the publication of article by threats or bribery.

The author may simultaneously submit one article to the editor.

 

The ethics of editorial board

The editor of the scientific journal is guided by reliability of data and scientific significance of the considered work when the decision-making on the publication.

The editor must evaluate the intellectual content of manuscripts regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, origin, nationality, social status or political preferences of the authors.

Unpublished data that were received from the manuscripts submitted for consideration must not be used for personal purposes or transferred to the third parties without the written consent of the author. Information or ideas that were received during the editing and associated with potential benefits must be kept confidential and not used for the purpose of personal profit.

The editor must not allow the publication of information if there is sufficient reason to believe that it is the plagiarism.

The editor jointly with the publisher must not leave unanswered complaints concerning the examined manuscripts or published materials, as well as take all necessary measures to redress the violation of rights when detecting of a conflict situation.

Editorial Board examines the copyrighted material confidentially preventing the leakage of this information outside of the editorial board.

Editorial Board obliged to keep a neutral position on the author's opinion.

Editorial Board has the right to reject an article without a review, if it is considered to be low-quality or unsuitable for the readers of the journal. This decision is made fairly and impartially with a glance of the editorial policy of the journal.

Editorial Board keeps the confidentiality of personal data of the reviewers.

 

                                        The ethics of reviewer          

The manuscript which is received for review must be regarded as a confidential document, which cannot be passed for getting acquainted or discussion of the third parties who do not have the permissions for that from the Editorial Board.

A reviewer is obliged to give an objective and grounded assessment of stated study results. The personal criticism of the author is not acceptable.

Unpublished data from submitted for consideration manuscripts must not be used for personal purposes of reviewer.

The reviewer who does not have, in his opinion, sufficient qualifications for assessment of the manuscript, or cannot be objective, for example, in the case of a conflict of interests with the author or organization must inform the editor with a request to exclude him from the process of reviewing of this manuscript.

The reviewer is obliged to express his views clearly and with arguments. The reviews of the scientific articles must be objective. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.
